Artist Statement
Hi I'm Carl, an artist based on the south coast. I love to create atmospheric and emotional works of art that allow you to wander and feel a sense of escapism.
My work invites you to pause and fully immerse yourself in the warmth of a treasured memory, whether its the gentle sound of waves against the shore, the scent of blooming wildflowers, or the soft glow of sunset. In these peaceful, quiet moments, I hope you feel the comfort and calm that comes from reconnecting with nature and personal recollections that linger with you, evoking a sense of calmness and reassurance.
Artist Bio
Carl Turner (b.1999) is an emerging British artist currently living and working in Bournemouth. In 2021 he began teaching himself how to paint with oils, taking primary inspiration from Bob Ross. Through this he realised he wanted to pursue a career as an artist and has recently been developing and fine tuning his self-taught skills as an oil painter.
His works have been inspired by growing up close to both the coast and the New Forest with nature being a strong source of inspiration for him. His more recent work has been more emotionally driven, expressing feeling and emotions from events in his personal life.
Whilst he uses both his emotions and the natural environment as a starting point, his imagination drives the creative process in creating atmospheric and emotive pieces.
Through making his work accessible he hopes to grow his brand and sell his work to collectors around the world.
